Helping Today. Helping Tommorow
Fortress of Hope Africa (FOHA) is an organization aimed at eliminating girls’ isolation during development. Our interventions are created for girls by girls. We reach the most at-risk and forgotten-about girls 20 years and under living in underserved communities and slums in Nairobi County. Our projects benefit girls in and out of school who are survivors of gender-based violence. We do this by creating programming using a human rights framework that promotes social and economic growth, education, leadership, mentorship, and sexual and reproductive health.
We believe that girls need safe spaces to lead, learn, collaborate, and explore their full potential. A place free from stigma and discrimination. This safe space is created in a classroom setting, as well as in our safe houses. Our experience has taught us that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Therefore, our interventions have evolved using the girls’ life experiences and realities. We believe girls are leaders of today and tomorrow! Our role is to provide a platform and space to facilitate and create opportunities for girls to share in meaningful conversations, personal growth, and leadership training.
There is no greater pillar of stability than a strong, free, and educated girl.

What Our Mentees Think
Education holds immense value and serves as the bedrock of my personal and professional growth. It empowers me to navigate through life and pursue my aspirations with unwavering determination and competence.

MenteeIn my community and family, there is a prevalent belief that emphasizes the importance of boys' education over girls'. However, it is crucial to recognize that education is a universal human right, transcending gender boundaries.
